Reflections

I listened to Pastor Prince sermon CD on Right Time, Right Place (if I didn't get the title wrongly). It contains 2 sermons, and because of the lack of time last night I listened to one only. It was about Resting in God. And he used the story of Ruth to illustrate it. Firstly, Ruth is a moabite woman who is widowed, yet she followed her mother-in-law back to Israel, willingly be with her, her God and her people. This showed her obidience/submission to her mother-in-law/God. She proclaimed favor even before receiving them (After listening to his sermon and attending to his service, I realise he is pro Grace = undeserved favor). And she did receive it from Boaz who is rich and powerful (happened to be the close relative to her father-in-law and one able to redeem her). Cutting the story short, Ruth offered herself to Boaz (under her mother-in-law guidiance) and Boaz also fell for her. After the night together (nothing sexual here), Ruth went back and the mother-in-law tell her to rest and wait patiently while letting Boaz to go busy about settling the redemption.

So interpretation is like this (not sure if I got it right but based my own understanding after hearing pastor Prince), we should submit to God and believe in favor will come to us. And by proclaiming so, we will find favor in Jesus (Boaz) and he will do all he has to do while we rest in him.

Simple right. wahaha... yeah, my first step to preaching people.

Cheers,
MoMo
